Enter Debussy’s middle years through personal upheaval, La Mer, Images, fatherhood, Children’s Corner, orchestral colour, Ibéria, the first book of Préludes, Le Martyre de saint Sébastien, Khamma and increasingly modern approaches to movement, memory and musical space.

Section IV — Jeux, War, Illness & the Late Sonatas
Reflect on Jeux, the First World War, En blanc et noir, the Études, Cello Sonata, Sonata for flute, viola and harp, Violin Sonata, worsening illness and Debussy’s final Paris years as his music becomes leaner, sharper and more concentrated while time itself seems to be running out.
